The Ashford Inn is a bed and breakfast with a reputation of offering its guests the finest in five-star accommodations. But recently it isn’t the cloud-like mattresses and delicious breakfast that draws the crowds, it’s the unsolved murder that occurred here that has people lining up at the door. This cold case, which was recently the subject of a best-selling true crime novel, has brought the Ashford into the spotlight. People from far and wide want to play detective and solve the mystery of who killed the girl in room nine.

For seventeen-year-old Olive Ashford, dealing with the new reality of your home becoming a destination for true-crime junkies has been difficult. But things become even more challenging when a group of teenage podcasters book a stay at the inn over spring break. Despite their pleas for her help, Olive wants nothing to do with their quest to find the killer. That is until Olive learns she may be the killer’s next victim.

Fearing for her life, Olive joins the group as they embark on their own investigation, hoping to uncover the identity of the killer before it’s too late.
